What I am about to share with you, will help you keep the weight off for good. Are simple steps that if you hold them close to your and practice them daily, you can guarantee results that last.

To a kitchen full of healthy food

  • Clean your kitchen! Remove all foods containing refined sugars, high fructose syrups, high saturated fats, anything with artificial coloring and foods with preservatives. Ok, so your pantry and fridge will be empty! I know. I have done it myself. (do this in day one, you can use cleaning as your exercise for today!)

  • Do not forget, all your sugary drinks. Clean them all out too. Your main source for hydration is going to pure and simple water. Drink lots of it. You can certainly add some lemon or make it an iced tea (with no sugar). Drink water when you fell hungry!
  • Remove condiments, and canned food containing excessive amounts of sodium, those should be gone too.
  • Go to the grocery store and buy some green leafy vegetables, some lean protein and forget the rest of the isles in the supermarket.

Do you know what my key item to remove will be: bread! Bread makes you feel so bloated. Just take bread out for 3 or 4 days, and you will see the difference.

  • Exercise at least 30 minutes every day, at least go for a brisk walk. You can also do some jumping rope, video programs. It does not matter, just make sure you increase your heart rate and if possible do it with intensity, to the point of sweating.
  • If you work in place where you can take the stairs, take the stairs and do that at least 3 times a day starting day 1. Same if you live in two or more story building. You do not need an expensive stepper! Do it several times a day, you will see how you can lose weight in 2 weeks!

New habits

  • Replace donuts, with boiled eggs in the morning
  • Replace nachos and cheese puffs with rice cakes and some peanuts in the afternoon
  • Replace sodas with water through the day
  • Replace bread with gluten free bread if you chose to still have some bread

Just with removing the bread alone, that will do wonders for your waistline! Please, you have to give this a try!

For me, there are 4 vital steps to make any weight loss program successful. However, you do have a deadline, you wanting to find out how to lose weight in a week. So, I will tweak my 4 recommendations for you.

1.    Exercise Moderately

  • For the long term: To help the body to lose weight every diet should be accompanied by a really good exercise routine. One of my trainers used to have a saying ‘burn fat from the outside, build muscle from the inside.’ Once you have removed the fat there is underlying muscle to provide your body with definition. Try to keep active every day with some more intense workouts 3 or 4 times per week.
  • However for those in a hurry: I would just say, if you have not been active, do not try to become an athlete in a week. For the next 7 days, just walk. Walk around your block, at lunch time or when you put the kids to bed. 20 or 30 minutes. If you can, walk briskly.

2.    Eat Lots of Nutritious food

  • For long term: Foods that are rich in fiber, protein and low in carbohydrates is what you body needs. For rapid weight loss, remember to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and supplement them with organic meat. This is essential for success. In addition white flour and other foods containing gluten are a definite no. Sugar should also be removed from your diet.
  • In a hurry: If you only have a week to get as much weight off, then my key suggestions: Stop eating bread and salty stuff. Bread just makes you puffy, you will not believe the difference just by taking this out of your daily diet. Salt makes you retain water, and a lot of times is water and not fat what you see.

3.    Drink Adequate Amounts of Water

  • Although the recommended intake is around 8 glasses each day, you may need to drink more if you are exercising regularly and burning off a lot of fat. This is nothing new and it does not change if you need to lose weight quickly. Just keep drinking your water.

4.    Proper Rest

  • For long term: A really good rest is what your body needs to repair and rejuvenate itself. If you are not sleeping properly for at least 6- 8 hours a day then it would be harder for your body to heal. Sometimes, rest is all we need to maintain alertness and bring about good health.
  • In a hurry: If you are trying to find out how to lose weight in a week, I am guessing you either have party to attend, a vacation to fly to, or some special occasion. Needless to say, special occasions rarely come stress free. So, I imagine your are pretty stressed out. You do need your sleep, but if you can not get it, as you are packing or calling friends for the party, the fastest way I can relax is by getting a massage. Take 1 hour away for you and get a relaxation massage. Hopefully before going to sleep.

Having a good weight loss diet plan is essential to losing weight. In order to make it a success you need to make a commitment to stick to the plan. Make sure you have all the right foods available and learn the new recipes so you won’t go hungry. Once you make it a habit of eating the right foods you will start to lose those pounds quickly and realize losing weight is not as difficult as you first thought.

You must get going with your exercise. Seriously! And I am not talking about taking on one of those extreme programs like P90X (that I actually love) but at least shut down the television for half an hour and go for a walk around the block. It is best if you do it after your meal. If you like programs like Survivor or the ones that go around the globe, would you want to be able to travel around the world without restrictions! or weight issues? But you need to get away from the couch or the computer, or maybe the video games that are holding you back. If you are a mom, I know is hard, so please take 30 minutes for yourself, even if that means that you will go around the block 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes in the afternoon and 10 minutes at night. I know it is difficult to find time, but it will be much more difficult to find time if you get ill due to the excess weight.
